Choir Olympics

Cantabile competed at the 2004 Choir Olympics, held in Bremen, Germany. The Olympics involved nearly 20,000 singers from 84 countries. Cantabile competed in the Youth Choirs of Equal Voices, Popular Music and Gospel Music. The young choir competed against a field of the finest youth and adult choirs in the world and were awarded Three Silver Medals, one for each section! The choir were the first Australian choir to ever be awarded a Choir Olympic medal and were delighted to successfully represent their country.

2004 Choir Olympics

In 2006 Cantabile competed at the 4th World Choir Games (formerly The Choir Olympics), held in Xiamen, China. Competing against hundreds of choirs from around the world, these talented girls not only won another Three Silver Medals for Australia but they were also invited to represent the entire Oceania region by performing at the Opening Ceremony. Their performance was before an audience of 8,000 and was broadcast live on Chinese television.(China 2006)

2006 World Choir Games

In August 2008, Cantabile competed at the 5th World Choir Gamesin Graz, Austria, returning with medals for the 3rd consecutive time. This time their haul included 1 GOLD and 2 SILVER medals. This followed a strong performance at the Summa Cum Laude Youth Music Festival, where they finished second in a strong field in the Choirs Section.(Austria 2008)
